Parallels Desktop Flaw Lets Non-Admin Mac Users Gain Root, but Intel Macs Can't Install Fix

A vulnerability in Parallels Desktop for Mac allows a local user account to execute code with root privileges, the highest level of access on a Mac. This flaw requires code to already be running on the machine with normal user privileges, meaning it cannot be exploited remotely. The issue can be resolved by updating to Parallels Desktop 17 is not mentioned but version 27, however, Intel Macs are unable to install this version. The vulnerability was disclosed by software company JFrog. Yuval Moravchick, a leader at JFrog, was involved in the disclosure. The flaw allows for elevated access but does not enable remote exploitation.
