ined.fr INED is France's National Institute for Demographic Studies, founded in 1945 in Paris as a public scientific research institution under CNRS patronage and the world's largest demographic research center with 200 staff and 120 researchers. It holds a unique mandate as France's national population statistics authority, producing the annual Démographie de la France report and the monthly Population and Sociétés bulletin.
