Is Patching Dead? Vulnerability Management in the Post-Mythos Era

Patching may no longer be an effective strategy for vulnerability management due to the rapid development of exploits. It is suggested that trying to optimize patching is a losing effort, as exploits can be created quickly from vulnerability descriptions. The speed at which exploits are developed, such as within twenty hours, renders patching less effective. This challenges the traditional approach to vulnerability management. The idea that patching is no longer a viable solution is being considered. Vulnerability management may need to adapt to this new reality.
