Hackers Use NeedyMantis to Maintain Long-Term Access in Breached Networks

Microsoft has identified a malware family called NeedyMantis that hackers use to maintain long-term access in breached networks. The malware has been used in a limited number of targeted intrusions. Affected organizations include those in the telecommunications, education, and medical nonprofit sectors, as well as intergovernmental organizations and government contractors. The use of NeedyMantis dates back to at least some point in the past, although the exact timeline is not specified.
