FCC Blocks New Foreign-Produced Robots and Power Inverters Over Cyber Risks

The Federal Communications Commission has added certain foreign-produced devices to its Covered List, effectively blocking new models of mobile robots and networked power inverters from being imported, marketed, or sold in the US due to cyber risks. This change does not affect previously authorized models, which can still be sold, or devices that are already owned by individuals. The decision prevents these devices from receiving the necessary equipment authorization for sale in the US. Existing devices and previously authorized models are exempt from this restriction. The move also impacts federal purchases and use of these devices.
